Seewald lake Fontanella
Trip to the mountain lake in the Bregenz Forest
A bathing lake in a fabulous mountain setting! Any time of year, whatever the weather, a walk to the Seewald lake is not to be missed!
A natural bathing lake in the heart of the mountains
Any time of year, whatever the weather, a walk to the Seewald lake is not to be missed..
From Fontanella/Säge it's approx. 35 minutes' walk along a small asphalt road with a gentle gradient. There's very little traffic, since only residents are allowed access. Reaching the cluster of cottages at Garlitt hamlet, the road continues to the valley of the Seewald lake.
Once you have crossed the imposing gorge, you come to the mountain farms which constitute Parzelle hamlet, which in earlier times was very difficult to access. This marks a transition into an area of real open Walser countryside. And here, nestling in the meadows, is the peaceful little lake - looking for all the world as though it had a smile on its face! This lovely spot, with its children's playground and barbeque area, is very difficult to resist.
