Marathons and other sporting events in Vorarlberg
Ambitious runners can enjoy several stiff competitions in Vorarlberg. The highlights:
A unique running experience around the Bodensee through three countries: this is the Three-Country Marathon which starts from Lindau Island. From there it sets off into Austria, through Lochau, Bregenz, Hard, Fußach, Höchst, over the Swiss border to St. Margrethen and then back over the Rhine dam to Hard before the final stretch into Bregenz.
Along with the classic marathon distance there are also half-marathon and quarter-marathon variants, a team event and an 11 kilometre walk.
Montafon Arlberg Marathon
Perhaps the most beautiful mountain marathon in western Austria - and also the hardest. Not only the marathon distance but also the 1,600 metre altitude require participants to really give it their all in the Montafon Arlberg Marathon.
Triathletes cover 106.2 km, from the Bodensee to Arlberg, in this Vorarlberg sporting event.
